Ben Stokes is easily one of IPL‘s most valuable players – if not in terms of salary then by way of accomplishments is running the risk of not flying to the UAE at all and certainly not in the first half.
Stokes is attending to his father Gerard in Christchurch, who was diagnosed with brain cancer earlier this year. To ensure that Ben and his ‘old man’ remain very much in tune with Rajasthan Royals‘ stint this season, the franchise management and team members are planning special video calls with the Stokes family to cheer up the father and son.

No leeway in quarantine
Despite attempts being made to pursue with the BCCI to allow cricketers from England and Australia to join their respective franchises early, the Board is convinced that every individual arriving to play the IPL in UAE will have to undergo the mandatory quarantine. “It was six days for all the players who arrived here last month, and it’ll be the same for everyone else,” say those in the know.
